SALMAA
HOW IT STARTED
The team was built around the ReMinfo project initiated during the nation-wide VersusVirus hackathon of April 2020. During this event highly motivated diverse and engaged individuals started working together to find solutions to help refugees and migrants in Switzerland. Later on, the team created the Swiss Association Linking Migrants with Activities and Aid - SALMAA in order to pursue its goals.
THE TEAM
The team has grown since the orginal hackathon and is currently composed of migrants, refugees and swiss citizens from diverse backgrounds. We are aged 20s to 60s and speak altogether 9 languages.
THE VISION
The vision of SALMAA is for all newly-refugees and migrants in Switzerland to become independent by getting the opportunity to learn a local language, to keep healthy, and to feel supported and secure, living in their new environment. This will ensure a good start and eased integration into the Swiss society which benefits both, the newcomers and the swiss residents.
